Literary Lacquers Swatches and Review

I had the pleasure of reviewing some gorgeous polish from Literary Lacquer and I'm so very happy to share it with you now!  I'm sure you have seen or heard of Literary Lacquer before but if not here is a little background.  Amy, the creator wanted to combine her two passions - literature and nail polish!  Thus Literary Lacquers was born.  Each of her collections is inspired by a literary reference.  Even if I wasn't a huge bookworm myself I would still think that was awesome.  By the way, how cute are the labels?  I totally picture a sexy librarian with super hot nails!

You can purchase Literary Lacquers from the Etsy store.  And be sure to follow the Literary Lacquers Facebook page for updates on stock and new products!

First up is What Fools These Mortals Be.  WFTMB is part of the Midsummer's Night Dream collection.  Amy describes this polish as "Holographic pink and purple sparkle form the base, with light green, aqua, fuchsia, and tons of black glitter."  It's so very sparkly and the holo glitters are gorgeous!  It was a perfect topper to Fever Lacquer Violent Sweet!  I used 2 coats of What Fools These Mortals Be and was very happy with the amount of glitter I got with each brush dip.  The glitters all laid flat and my nails were smooth with a thick layer of topcoat.

This is Greatest Treasures.  Greatest Treasures is from the Gift of the Magi Collection.  It's amazing!  I am a serious holo lover and this is a very unique color to my collection!  It's coral, it's red, it's orange,  it's linear, it's hot!!  I used 3 coats and the formula was wonderful.  Almost a jelly finish, and no problems with dragging or pooling.  I did not use topcoat.

Another holo.  My weakness, my kryptonite.  This is More Like Light Than Fire and it's from The Good Parts Collection  which highlights erotic fiction from Fanny Hill to 50 Shades of Grey.  More Like Light Than Fire is specifically from Delta of Venus by Anais Nin, which I am not familiar with but you can read an excerpt on the Etsy listing here.    The finish was the same as Greatest Treasures, jelly like and very easy to use.  No application problems to report.  I used 3 layers and no top coat.  **on a side note, this polish was not sent for my review but was received in a swap and I chose to include it with the others that were sent for review.

Finally I have Roissey which is also from The Good Parts Collection.  It's inspired by The Story of O published under the pseudonym Pauline Reage in 1954.  Roissey is a sheer royal blue polish with a blue-purple shimmer and black shredded glitter pieces.  This is a gorgeous polish but it was hard to find a base coat to really show it off to it's true potential.  I finally settled on Essie Shelter Island, a sky blue creme that allowed the shimmer to really shine through.  I used 2 coats of Roissey and 1 layer of topcoat.
